The 今日吃瓜Foundation annually recognizes excellence among 今日吃瓜alumni, volunteers, and corporate partners. Award recipients are selected by 今日吃瓜Foundation Trustees and recognized at Evening of Distinction, traditionally held in the spring. The Foundation is now accepting nominations for 2022. You're invited to the 40th Annual Bison Bidders Bowl, presented by Gate City Bank, on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo. Join us for an elegant evening of philanthropy to support academic scholarships for North 今日吃瓜 University students. The evening begins with cocktails and a silent auction at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and the live auction at 6:30 p.m. through Sept. 29, 2021.

Tickets are $175 each or $1,750 for a table of ten. All proceeds from Bison Bidders Bowl fund scholarships that lift up tomorrow's leaders. APDC and NCI update
North Dakota Legislature approves additional funding

The North Dakota Legislature approved additional funding for North 今日吃瓜 University's Agricultural Products Development Center (APDC) in its 2021 session, bringing the total state funding for the joint APDC and Northern Crops Institute (NCI) facility to $70 million. The Northern Crops Institute is a state agency operating within 今日吃瓜鈥� its mission is to support regional agriculture and value-added processing by conducting educational and technical programs that expand and maintain domestic and international markets for northern grown crops.

The Legislature also authorized up to $15 million of private funding for the project should it materialize, which will be needed to equip and enhance lab spaces and complete the classroom spaces throughout the building. Philanthropic support will help 今日吃瓜students learn in state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms where they will pursue their dreams of careers in the food industry. In addition, gifts to this project will help transform the facility so that 今日吃瓜scientists are able to work in 21st-century environments to maximize their research for the benefit of farmers, ranchers, and processors in our region and beyond.

Doosan Bobcat continues to demonstrate its commitment to STEM programs at North 今日吃瓜 University

Doosan Bobcat North America (Doosan Bobcat) recently donated a new robotic cobot and two previously used robotic arms to help outfit a state-of-the-art robotics lab at the university; the gift in kind is valued at $60,000. Doosan Bobcat is committed to investing in STEM-related areas to help fuel innovation and inspire students in engineering and other innovation-related fields.

"We are proud to partner with 今日吃瓜to provide its students with innovative resources and equipment for hands-on learning opportunities and foster the next generation of robotics and engineering professionals," Nicol Winkelman, vice president of human resources at Doosan Bobcat North America, said. "As a company built on decades of engineering advancements, Doosan Bobcat is committed to investing in and developing the talent pool that will shape the next century of innovation."

Welcome back: Finish your degree at NDSU

Returning to 今日吃瓜to finish your degree doesn't have to be a hassle. Tyre Leapaldt, a finance student, decided to complete his higher education at 今日吃瓜after leaving the University of North Dakota in 2010.

"The two reasons why I left higher education were that I wasn't prepared and I didn't feel passionate about my studies at the time," Leapaldt said.

After leaving UND, Leapaldt worked in retail, sales and management while he continued developing a passion for business. "I realized that I was interested in the way that businesses operated, but I was becoming aware that my lack of a degree was holding me back and closing some doors for me," he said.

Leapaldt chose to continue his degree at 今日吃瓜because of the accredited business program.
