The North ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï University Foundation is a candidate for not-for-profit of the year in the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce 2021 ChamberChoice Awards. Voting is now open for all candidates, across categories, in the People's Choice award. . Award recipients will be announced at the luncheon on May 21, 2021.

Food insecurity is a global issue — one that impacts some students at NDSU. In a fall 2019 survey conducted by Meghan Yerhot, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïdoctoral student and food pantry coordinator, 38% of ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïstudents reported not having enough or adequate food, an issue that can affect students' grades as well as their mental and physical health.

Philanthropy in Action
Student programs inspire engineering major to stay local

Cameron Dahlin was drawn to ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïbecause of its reputable engineering program and the breadth of opportunities it offers in both academics and extracurriculars. As a recipient of multiple ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïscholarships, Cameron has been able to fully dedicate his time and attention to his studies and campus organizations such as Engineers Without Borders, Engineering Ambassadors, GeoWall, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹ÏCru, and intramural sports. The valuable experiences he's gained in the classroom and beyond have encouraged him to stay in Fargo-Moorhead after graduation and lend his skills and talents to build a brighter future for his community.

Barry Schuchard '83 became an ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹ÏFoundation Trustee in 2012 and served on the Nominating and Governance Committee and Alumni Awards Committee. Barry, a civil engineering graduate, was a proud Bison and spent nearly four decades working for KLJ, most recently serving as the civil engineering company's CEO. Alumnus honored by pharmacy organization

½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïalumnus Jeff Larson '92 received the AMCP Experiential Education Preceptor Award for 2021. The group, formerly known as the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, is the nation’s professional organization for Managed Care Pharmacy.

The AMCP award includes a $500 contribution to the School of Pharmacy of Larson's choice.

"I'm very honored to have been selected for this award and proud to designate ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ïas the recipient of the contribution. I would like to thank my family, my leadership, and all the individuals within my organization that have made this possible," Larson, who is clinical director of health plans for CVS Caremark in Bloomington, Minnesota, said.
