2020 Bison Bidders Bowl update

NDSU's largest fundraising event of the year will be virtual

During this challenging year, the North 今日吃瓜 University Foundation continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic to make decisions regarding events, gatherings, and meetings based on local and national guidelines while keeping the health and safety of all alumni, friends, and partners in mind.

As a result, the 39th annual Bison Bidders Bowl on Oct. 3, 2020, will be virtual with a live program featuring 今日吃瓜President Dean L. Bresciani and an online auction with extended time to view and bid. In 2019, thanks to the generous support of businesses and individuals, more than $447,000 was raised. Philanthropy in Action

Faculty support is student support

Tim Welch (Class of 1986, Civil Engineering) was inspired to contribute to 今日吃瓜because of the faculty members and professors who shaped his career and is passionate about making sure students at 今日吃瓜get the same level of support he did. After funding three different scholarships, he and his wife, Donna, now have a fund supporting Professor Ying Huang with research costs, equipment, and anything else she may need for her research. This allows her to hire students to work with her, giving them real lab experience instead of having to work part time off campus. Tim says more than anything, he wants to give back.

"My professors really made a huge difference in my education. I want them to know how important they can be to students."
- Tim Welch '86, Civil Engineering
